La Policía de incauta de más de una tonelada de cocaína

La Policía ecuatoriana se incautó de más de una tonelada de cocaína en la provincia ecuatoriana de Pichincha, cuya capital es Quito, informó este sábado la ministra de Gobierno, María Paula Romo.

En su perfil de la red social Twitter, la ministra apuntó que varias unidades de la Policía Nacional ejecutaron un operativo antinarcóticos en la localidad andina de Guayllabamba.

Y como resultado preliminar de los operativos mencionó el hallazgo de «más de una tonelada de cocaína en 1.100 paquetes».

Asimismo, indicó que se retuvo dos vehículos y se detuvo a tres ciudadanos, pero no ofreció detalles sobre sus los mismos.

En su cuenta de la red social, la alta funcionaria colocó dos fotografías sobre los operativos, en una de las cuales se aprecian varios paquetes grandes cerrados.

En la segunda gráfica aparecen decenas de paquetes pequeños tipo ladrillo con embalaje color café, que parecen ser el contenido de los de la primera gráfica.

El hallazgo se dio en la misma semana en que otras tres personas fueron detenidas en un operativo, coordinado con fuerzas de seguridad de Ecuador y otras naciones, que evitó el envío de una tonelada de cocaína desde Ecuador.

De acuerdo a las investigaciones, se pretendía sacar esa droga desde las costas de la provincias de Esmeraldas, situada en el norte de Ecuador y fronteriza con Colombia.

Sin más detalles, Romo apuntó el martes que en el operativo participó la Policía de Ecuador «en un trabajo coordinado con las fuerzas de seguridad de los países de la región», pero no detalló qué naciones participaron.

Según la funcionaria, se pretendía enviar la tonelada de cocaína hacia Centro y Norte América.

Sobre ese caso, Romo incluyó también incluyó en su mensaje de Twitter tres fotografías, y en una de ella se apreciaban varios paquetes grandes embalados con plástico negro.

En otra se podía ver lo que parecía ser el contenido de esos grandes bultos: pequeños paquetes en forma de ladrillos, embalados en plástico color café claro. En algunos de estos, que estaban abiertos, se observaba una sustancia blanca. EFE
